About AOA

Fairey Marine formed the Atalanta Owners Association on 7th January 1959, with the object of "Keeping a register of all Atalanta Owners and to further the interests of Owners in cruising and racing". This register is now maintained by the Association's Honorary Secretary.

The Association maintains this website, where you can find a wealth of information about owning, sailing, maintaining and repairing the boats. If you are considering buying a Fairey Marine yacht please visit the For Sale section of the Forum All owners are encouraged to sign up for an account so that you can post messages in the Forum about maintaining your boat, buy and sell Atalanta parts, and send Private Messages to other website users.

Membership of the AOA is open to all owners of Fairey Marine Atalanta, Titania and Fulmar boats, and provides the funds needed to keep the organisation going. Associate Membership is available to anyone with an interest in these boats.

The Association has the original Fairey Marine drawings of the Atalanta together with a limited selection of drawings for the Titania, Fulmar and the Atalanta 31. A short history of the Atalanta and other Fairey boats is available along with other publications of interest. Copies of original drawings and publications are available to Members at discounted prices. We also carry a small stock of keel bolt sealing rings and keel box sealing rubbers, please Contact Us if you require these items.

The Association's AGM and Dinner is held each year in January, and has taken place every year since 1959. A race called "The Atalanta Race" is open to boat owning members, and organised on the East Coast during the West Mersea Town Regatta, usually in August. The Association was represented at the Thames Boat Show in 2007 and 2008, and "cruises in company" have taken place on the Solent, the East and West Coasts, and as far afield as British Columbia. It is hoped these activities will continue for many years to come.
